First Aid Steps
Following these steps may help to preserve the lives of the victims until they reach the hospital and receive the necessary medical care
1- Stop The Bleeding
The most common and preventable cause of death is by bleeding to death. Bleeding of the extremities can be stopped very quickly and effectively with tourniquets as a temporary measure for gaining time.
It is mandatory to mark the use of the tourniquet and time it was applied. A tourniquet can be used for a timeline of 6 hours, and in individual cases up to 16 hours. Up to this time the opening of tourniquets is only allowed with additional medical treatment.
For other wounds on the rest of the body, the bleeding can be stopped by applying pressure to the wound with a bandage such as a clean towel or cloth. The pressure should be kept on the wound until the bleeding stops. Don't change the bandage when it's full of blood. Put another bandage on it and keep applying pressure on it with both hands.
Right places for the tourniquet
Place a strip of cloth above the bleeding area and knot it tightly
Insert a stick or other hard bar and knot again
Twist the stick to tighten the tourniquet firmly
Secure the stick in place using another piece of strip and write down the time of placement of the tourniquet
